茂作と巳之吉という二人の男が、 山でひどい吹雪に遭ってしまいます。
こりゃあ、 いかんぞ。
でも、 よかった、 あんな所に山小屋が。
いやあ、 寒いのう。
これから、 どうしようか。
暇なんで、 好きな女の子の名前でも言いませんか。
修学旅行の夜じゃないんじゃよ。
分かってますよ、 眠くならないような提案をしたのに。
って、 寝てるじゃないの！
古典的なボケで眠ってしまった巳之吉。
しばらくすると、 何やら変な気配を感じました。
見たな！
私は雪女。
この凍てつく吐息をかけて、 こいつを殺したのだ。
そんなことをしてると、 結婚できませんよ。
そうかい、 ならば、 お前は若いし、 見逃してやろう。
でも、 今見たことを、 決して誰にも言ってはいけないよ。
もしも言ったら、 殺してやるからね。
そう言うと女は、 戸を閉めずに出て行ってしまいました。
躾がなってないなあ。
いや、 そこ、 いいじゃろう。
翌年の冬、 巳之吉はある若い娘に出会いました。
娘は雪のような白い肌で、 名前もお雪と言いました。
えっ、 あれ、 さっきの雪女じゃ...
二人は徐々に惹かれ合い、 やがて結婚。
十人もの子宝に恵まれました。
いやそれ、 随分産んだね。
でも不思議なのは、
そんなに子供も産んで、 結婚して何年も経つのに、
お雪は一向に年を取らないことでした。
ひょっとすると、 お雪は、
雪女だって気付いちゃったの？
美魔女か！
違うって！
しかし、 その幸せも、 ついに終わりを迎えることになります。
「 お雪、 」 巳之吉は何気なく雪女の話をしてしまいます。
するとどうでしょう。
「 それは、 この私じゃ！ 」
まさか、 お雪が雪女だったとは！
いや、 分かってたし！
「 あれほど約束したのに、 なんで喋ってしまったの？ 」
「 でも、 子供達のことを思うと、 お前の命を取ることはできぬ。 」
「 こうなったからには、 せめて子供達を大事に育てておくれ」
それきり二度と現れなかったと言います。
「 なんで話してしまったんだろう」 巳之吉はいつまでも後悔し続けるのでした。
いやあ、 切ない話じゃったね。
しかも、 まさか二人が同一人物だったとは。
いや、 そんなのすぐ分かったし、 それに最後は分かれると思ってたよ。
えっ、 どうして分かったんですか。
そりゃあ、 君、 相手が雪だけに、 振られた。
