通学中の交通事故を防ぐため、小学校の新1年生が「ピーポくん」や「パンダちゃん」と横断歩道の正しい渡り方を学びました。

東京・台東区の平成小学校では、6日に入学式を迎えた新1年生37人が上野警察署員と横断歩道を渡る前に左右を見た後、もう一度右を見るルールなどを確認しました。

警視庁によりますと、都内の過去5年間の交通事故で、歩行者の死傷者数は小学1年生が含まれる7歳が475人で最も多いということです。
