インド北部のジャム・カシミール州で9日、ヒンドゥー教の巡礼者を乗せたバスが待ち伏せしていた武装集団の銃撃に合い、崖から転落しました。
この襲撃によって少なくとも9人が死亡し、33人が負傷しました。
AP通信によりますと、地元警察当局はインドがカシミール地方を実効支配することに反対するイスラム過激派の襲撃だとして捜査を進めていますが、これまでに犯行声明は出されていません。
パキスタンと領有権を争うカシミール地方では、大半を占めるイスラム教徒が独立やパキスタンへの帰属を求めてインドの統治に反発しています。
この地域では2017年にもヒンドゥー教の巡礼者を乗せたバスが標的となり、8人が死亡しました。
